Family Ceremonies

As a family celebrant I can perform ceremonies to celebrate your new baby, an adopted child or the blending of families.

• Naming ceremonies celebrate the arrival of a child, announce the child’s name, and welcome the child into the family. It is a chance for families to make promises to the child in front of family and friends and can include participation from grandparents and supporting adults. It is recognition of the child as a new member of the family and wider community.
  
• Adoption ceremonies are wonderful way of welcoming a child into the family and introducing them to family and friends. Like naming ceremonies, it is a chance for families to make promises to the child in front of family and friends. It is recognition of the child as a new member of the family.
  
• Blended family ceremonies are a way of joining families together and having the children take part to show that they are now blended into one family.

These ceremonies can also be incorporated with a couple ceremony.

Symbolic Actions

Symbolic actions are a lovely way to add depth and meaning, and an opportunity to include others in your ceremony. There are many types of symbolic actions which can be adapted to your ceremony. These include:
